Five Little Monkeys

Five little monkeys, swinging in the tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!”  As long as Mr. Alligator, quiet as can be, snapped that monkey right out of that tree.

Four little monkeys, swinging in the tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!”  As long as Mr. Alligator, quiet as can be, snapped that monkey right out of that tree.

Three litle monkeys, swinging in the tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, “Catch catch me!”  As long as Mr. Alligator, quiet as can be, snapped that monkey right out of that tree.

Two little monkeys swinging in the tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!”  As long as Mr. Alligator, quiet as can be, snapped that monkey right out of that tree.

One little monkey, swinging in the tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!”  Then snapped “Missed me, missed me!  Now you got to kiss me!”

The Little Unicorn

Once upon a time there was a little unicorn. She lived with her mama. Then it was night. The sun went down. Then the little unicorn went to bed. She made a big yawn. Then the sun came up. She woked up, jumped out of bed, and then yelled, “Surprise!” It was Happy Mother’s Day. She went to her mama’s room, and said, “Wake up!” She shouted in her mama’s ear, and her mama said, “What?”

A little dragon came to the little unicorn, and the dragon said, “Is it Mother’s Day?”

The unicorn brought a Mother’s Day present. It was bubbles! The little unicorn wanted to surprise her mother. Then the little dragon said, “Roar!” in her ear.

Then there was a crocodile, and it liked to eat unicorns and dragons. The little unicorn said, “Run, little dragon!” And the little unicorn said, “Auuughhh!”

The little dragon grabbed a sword and went back to the crocodile. Then the little dragon killed the crocodile, and the little unicorn said, “Yippee!”

The end.

[Note from Mom: Maggie wrote this one herself in her notebook, just like her friends Ben and Noah do with their blog posts. I copied it here for her.]

Fireman Brett

Fireman Brett put on his fireman clothes. We watched a movie at the fire station. Then, we came back home. Dylan was fighting me over those crayons. Daddy protected my crayons from Dylan.

If your house is on fire, call 911. I was in the Daisy troop.

The end.

Note from Mom: Maggie went to the local fire station with her Daisy troop last Saturday. The firefighters had the girls watch a video about fire safety, showed the girls the truck, and one of the firefighters (Fireman Brett) put on his protective clothing to show the girls not to be scared of firefighters.  All of the Daisies received a color book, which is what Maggie was referring to when she mentions the fight she and Dylan had later over crayons.

Thinking Blogger

Thinking Blogger Award

Mom: Maggie, how do you feel about getting a Thinking Blogger Award?

Maggie: I like awards.

Mom: What is “thinking”?

Maggie: You go to school.

Mom: Do you think at home?

Maggie: *Nods*

Mom: What do you think about?

Maggie: I think about playing with my animals.

Mom: Do you like thinking?

Maggie: Yes.

Mom: What makes you think?

Maggie: I’m thinking of watching Zim.

Mom: No, I mean what makes you think about things?

Maggie: I do think that I could go to the park.

Mom: No, Maggie, I mean what makes you think about things?

Maggie: Why do you keep saying that?

Mom: Because you got an award from Ben and Noah because they say your blog makes them think. Now you have to say what makes YOU think.

Maggie: I see the whole neighborhood. It makes me feel happy.

Mom: Why?

Maggie: Do a dance for me, Mama.

Mom: Maggie, you’re very silly.

Maggie: Why did you write that?

Mom: Because I asked you a question, and you told me to dance. Goofball.

Maggie: Don’t write “goofball”!

Mom: I wrote “goofball.” Maggie, you and I are not making anyone think right now. Probably they are laughing, but not thinking. Unless they are thinking about how silly you are.

Maggie: Grrrr! [She really did growl at me.]
Maggie: I watch Sarah do silly stuff.

Mom: I watch Maggie say and do silly stuff. And she does both things a lot.

The end.

[Note: Maggie is just now learning to read, so she doesn't really read other blogs, but when she figures out what this award means some day, maybe she'll be glad she got it and nominate some other bloggers.]

Odie’s Big Day

Once upon a time, Odie was building a house.  Odie had friends.  So, Odie played with her friends.  So, Maggie was waiting for Mama to bring a Sponge Bob table.  It had chairs.  So, I went for a walk with Mama to the park.  So, I was taking a walk for school.  And there was one more thing: I had to cuddle with Mama.  So, I met Zoe.  Clay and Maggie went in school.  I went back home.  I was reading a book.  I played with Dylan.  Dylan said, “I love you.”  So, I like to play; it was fun.  I was clapping my hands.  No one could find out.  Odie and Maggie were good.  The end.

Odie and Bambi Were Singing

Once upon a time Odie and Whiskers spent time of icy.  Bambi loved singing.  Odie barked at someone that starts with a “S.”  It was Sarah!  No one understands, so it will not happen.  Dylan ate something spicy, and it was chicken noodle soup.  And it was yummy!  Dylan said, “What?”  Dylan said, “That’s yummy.”  So, Maggie patted Dylan on the hair.  So, Dylan snuggled by Mama.  So, Maggie and Whiskers were so happy.  So, Sarah took Maggie’s toys away.  Mama said “No!”  Sarah didn’t want to hear that thing.  Dylan ate Sarah’s food.  So, Maggie went to school.  Ms. Harry said, “You got show and tell, and it was Whiskers.”  The end.
